You don’t need another diet trend, 10-step plan, or magic supplement.

You just need food that makes sense, to your body, to your mood, to your life.

Every cell in your body is made from the food you eat. so what you put on your plate quite literally becomes you.

Choose nourishing whole foods, and you build your body with strength and vitality… but if you constantly fuel it with processed, low-quality foods, you're laying your foundations with weak, unstable bricks. And let's be real, that's not the vibe!

So let’s get back to basics, and rediscover the glow that comes from eating close to the earth.

“I’ve focused on whole foods now for many years, but since cutting out processed foods completely last year, I feel like a new version of myself. My energy is more stable, my skin is clearer, and I finally feel in sync with my body.” - Georgie x

What are whole foods, really?

Whole foods are ingredients in their most natural form. They haven’t been refined, messed with, or stripped of their goodness. Think fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, and herbs.

No long ingredient list. No barcode needed. Just food that’s been grown, not made.

When you fill your plate with these vibrant, real ingredients, something starts to shift. Your body feels more energised. Your cravings calm down. It's giving inner peace and outer glow.

You feel connected, to yourself, to the earth, to your natural rhythms 💖

"The closer a food is to its natural state, the more healing it is." – Dr. Mark Hyman

Why whole foods matter so much

Ultra-processed foods are everywhere; convenient, colourful, and addictive. But while they might hit the spot in the moment, they often leave your body depleted. That constant cycle of energy crashes, bloating, poor sleep, and brain fog? Highly processed food could be the culprit.

They’re often packed with additives, flavourings, gums, and artificial sweeteners. They lack fibre, slow-burning energy, or anything that truly nourishes. No wonder your body is confused...you’re feeding it literal chaos 😩

Now you all know that I'm a huge fan of incorporating supplements into my wellness routine. But facts are facts; you can’t out-supplement a beige diet, bestie 👀

Whole foods do the opposite. They support steady energy, clear thinking, good digestion, and glowing skin. They help your body come back to balance, without needing labels or marketing buzzwords.

"Whole foods are the original medicine; they nourish your cells, your energy, and your mind." - Dr. Rangan Chatterjee

Why I Avoid Seed Oils

One of the biggest shifts I made on my wellness journey was cutting out seed oils.

I used to think they were harmless, or even healthy, because they’re in so many “normal” foods. But once I started learning more about how they’re made and how they behave in the body, I knew they didn’t belong in my kitchen.

Seed oils like sunflower, canola, soybean, and corn oil are often highly processed, refined using heat and chemicals, and stripped of any real nutrition. They’re also very high in omega-6 fatty acids, which can throw your body into a pro-inflammatory state when not balanced with omega-3s.

Now I stick to natural fats like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, and occasionally flax or hemp oil, especially when I know they’re cold-pressed and organic. These feel nourishing, stable, and supportive of long-term health.

Once I cut out seed oils, I noticed everything from my digestion to my skin improved. It’s a small switch with a big ripple effect.

“Industrial seed oils are the most unhealthy oils you can eat. They’re the most chemically altered, the most inflammatory, and the most prone to oxidation.” - Dr. Chris Knobbe, ophthalmologist and seed oil researcher

This isn’t about restriction. It’s about nourishment.

You don’t have to follow a strict plan or give up everything overnight. This is about adding in the good stuff. Food that feels grounding, nourishing, and natural.

"When you eat more foods that grow from the earth, you naturally crowd out the things that deplete you." - Kris Carr

💖 Try simple swaps. Little upgrades. No stress.

💖 Add an extra veggie to your dinner tonight

💖 Choose whole grain bread or pasta instead of white

💖 Grab some fruit or nuts instead of a packaged snack

💖 Start off by making one meal a day as whole and unprocessed as you can

💖 Get playful with herbs, colours and seasonal foods

💖 Plan ahead to help you make healthy choices while travelling

It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be real. Not a diet, just a vibe 🌿

Eat for energy, not control

Your body doesn’t need rules, it needs nourishment. And that will shift depending on your hormones, sleep, stress and the season you’re in.

But one thing stays true: when you eat fresh, whole, plant-based ingredients, you give your body what it needs to repair, energise, and glow from the inside out.

"Real food creates real energy. Processed food creates confusion, in your body and your mind." – Dr. Will Bulsiewicz

Craving clarity? Start with your fridge.

Whole foods and your gut-brain connection

Your gut is often called your ‘second brain’, and when it’s thriving, everything feels easier. Digestion. Focus. Mood. Sleep. Whole foods play a huge role in this.

Fibre-rich fruits and vegetables feed the good bacteria in your gut. They support regular digestion, reduce inflammation, and help your body clear out toxins.

"Your body is designed to recognise and thrive on natural food, not artificial ingredients." – Dr. Deanna Minich

Gut health is the new flex 🙌

When your gut is balanced, your brain feels calmer. You feel clearer, more stable, and more connected to your natural rhythms.

Food that brings you back to yourself

Whole foods also encourage a slower, more mindful way of eating. They help you tune into your body’s natural hunger and fullness cues. They bring colour, texture and joy back to your meals.

It’s not about fear or control, it’s about presence. A big leafy salad. A bowl of hearty vegetable stew. A rainbow breakfast bowl. These aren’t just meals, they’re rituals of care.

"Eating plants isn’t about restriction, it’s about abundance, colour, flavour and life." – Dr. Gemma Newman

But What About Dessert?

Let’s be real, life without dessert? Not happening. And it doesn’t have to! Choosing whole foods doesn’t mean giving up on sweet moments. It just means rethinking them.

When you swap ultra-processed treats for nourishing alternatives, dessert becomes something that actually feels good...no sugar crash, no guilt, no weird ingredients your body doesn’t recognise.

Think medjool dates stuffed with nut butter and a pinch of sea salt. Frozen banana blended into creamy “nice” cream. Dark chocolate with real cacao. Baked apples with cinnamon. Raw brownies made from nuts and cacao powder. These are desserts that love you back.

It’s not about being perfect, it’s about tuning in. Listening to your body, honouring your cravings, and choosing sweetness that comes from the earth, not a factory.

You don’t have to miss out. You just get to upgrade.

Final thoughts: come back to real

If food has felt like a battle lately, this is your gentle reminder to reset. You don’t need a 30-day plan or a fancy app. Just come back to what your body already knows; real food heals.

Start small. One swap. One colourful plate. One meal that leaves you feeling nourished instead of depleted.

The closer your food is to nature, the closer you are to balance.

Start here with my favourite healthy swaps
